Course Overview In middle and early high school, students are expected to produce well-organized, evidence-based essays across academic subjects. Intermediate Academic Writing is designed for Grades 8–9 students who already understand paragraph structure and now need to develop multi-paragraph essays, deeper analysis, and stronger academic voice. Through focused instruction, students will learn how to plan, draft, revise, and polish formal essays—including argumentative, explanatory, and literary response formats—while strengthening their grammar, clarity, and structure.
